Southport Flower show is a date marked in many peoples calendar for not to miss event in the British Summer, with lots of activities and shows for visitors to enjoy. These include some magnificent show gardens to help give visitors ideas and inspiration for their own gardens, or simply for visitors to enjoy the natural beauty that can be achieved from talented landscape gardeners.
For the food lover Southport Flower Show will have a number of demonstrations from a number of top chefs as well as wide selection of food from some of the UK`s finest food producers, with a variety of high quality meats, vegetable and fruits. Food and drink has increase in popularity at the Southport Flower Show and the food markets is a must stop location for all the shows visitors, in recent years the show now hosts The North West Food Festival, with so much food to try and taste you really will be spoilt for choice, with over 50 gourmet food producers exhibiting at the show.
For the amateur growers there will be lots of competitions where you can put your prize fruit and veg up against other growers from around the UK, for the visitor you will be amazed at the wide selection of fruit and veg and display, with some tremendous examples on show, there will also be a number of floral design and gardens competitions to view.
The Southport Flower show is fun day out for the whole family, even if gardening isn’t your thing, the events will be packed full of entertaining show through the four days, show casing lots of country pursuits and exciting displays.
Every year the show plays hosts to many house hold names and celebrities, in 2013 the show was opened by Carol Vorderman, and also had other celebratory visitors that included Coronation Street`s Fiz, Jennie McAlpine and the presenter for BBC Gardeners World Christine Walkden
Every year the show has a theme, 2014 theme is Brazil, so the show will be bringing the sun and the carnival spirit of Rio de Janeiro to Southport this year.
