Biomass boilers work by burning renewable materials such as logs, wood pellets and wood chips. Most biomass fuel is made from fast growing trees for example willow as well as recycled wood from things such as wood pallets and other used timber.
A common biomass fuel is using wood pellets made from scraps of dry natural wood by 4-10 mm in diameter and 10-50 mm long, using natural timber usually not containing any synthetic additives, modern wood pellets are easy to store and give you a consistent quality giving you a natural burn rate.
Potential energy: 1 kg of pellets = 4.8 kWh = 0.48 litres of heating oil.
Wood chips
A wood waste product, fine wood chips are an ideal choice for using for your biomass boiler. Wood chips is one of the most ecological options as you are using a waste product and does not need trees cutting down.Energy power (wood chips, water content 25%):
1 map spruce = 766 kWh = 76.6 l oil
1 map beech = 1.058 kWh = 105.8 liters of heating oil
Wood Logs
Logs that is available to be burned, using raw wood logs as a material logs are a great choice for your biofuelEnergy Power:
1 st spruce kWh = 1.350 = 135 l of fuel
1 st beech = 1,930 kWh = 193 l of fuel
